Spielraum – Freie Szene Tage der darstellenden Künste Berlin 2024
5. bis 15. September
With Spielraum – Freie Szene Tage der darstellenden Künste Berlin 2024 (Spielraum – the 2024 Berlin Days of the Independent Performing Arts Community), the Berlin Performing Arts Program is coordinating a joint community-wide campaign. Over ten days, the audience is invited to late night performances, tours of performance venues, public rehearsals as well as mourning rituals and crafts sessions.
During the Climate Circle at tak, we will share challenging feelings about the climate crisis, converse with other Shakespeare fans about Hamlet in the Globe, shake our booties together at Ballhaus Prinzenallee or dance for democracy at the Brandenburg Gate – the schedule of programming for Spielraum really has something for everyone.

Community and Neighborhood Projects of the Berlin Performing Arts Program
The Berlin Performing Arts Program launched the pilot project ‚Community and Neighborhood Projects‘ to support Berlin performance venues, artists, and sociocultural structures in creating new connections or strengthening existing ones between the Berlin audience and the locations of the independent performing arts community through mediation work.
About Us
With Spielraum – Freie Szene Tage der darstellenden Künste Berlin 2024 (Spielraum – the 2024 Berlin Days of the Independent Performing Arts Community), the Berlin Performing Arts Program is coordinating a joint community-wide campaign for the first time from September 5 to 15, 2024, and annually thereafter.
The community-wide campaign places the focus on the locations of the independent performing arts community as places of encounter and movement, as places of exchange and of societal transformation. What community work, which neighborhood projects are intended for which audience members? How can connections to civil society be strengthened and how can new audience members be reached? How can we network ourselves beyond existing spaces, exchange perspectives and find new impulses for our community work? Tours of performance venues, open rehearsals, workshops, discussions with audiences, open houses, art in public space and neighborhood projects are taking place during the period of the campaign alongside and with the regular programming of the various stages and are intended for a broad audience.
The Berlin Performing Arts Program is a program of LAFT Berlin – Landesverband freie darstellende Künste Berlin e. V. The Performing Arts Program – Performing Arts in Focus (PAP-PAFO) is supported by the State of Berlin – Senate Department for Culture and Community) from funds of the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE) within the program „Strengthening the Innovation Potential in Culture III (INP III)“.
